This is New Apostle Gallery’s second exhibition in South Korea. The gallery displayed work by David Hollier with a centrepiece being Mugunghwa (2026), a hand-painted acrylic on canvas measuring 48 x 36 inches (122 x 91.4 cm). The work marks the first piece in Hollier’s Korean Collection and is created entirely using Hangul, the Korean alphabet. Constructed from the repeated text of “Aegukga,” the South Korean national anthem.The painting transforms language into image while honoring Korea’s national and cultural identity.
