Hugo Bastidas
Hugo Bastidas is an internationally recognized painter, educator, and Fulbright Fellow based in New York. After earning degrees from Rutgers University and Hunter College, he developed a distinctive monochromatic painting practice that examines the human condition, globalization, and contemporary social and political issues. Bastidas has exhibited extensively throughout the United States, Europe, South America, Asia, and the Middle East, and his work has been featured in publications including The New York Times, Art in America, and ArtNexus. In addition to his studio practice, he has taught at New Jersey City University and the Art Students League of New York, mentoring generations of emerging artists.
